Nomination News: More on Cumberland – Colchester – Musquodoboit Valley
- Cumberland – Colchester – Musquodoboit Valley, NS - Conservative backroom veteran Scott Armstrong was to announce his candidacy today for his party's nomination. Armstrong is credited by the Herald as having been a go-between between Casey's supporters and the party headquarters, and though he supported Casey's reelection, has been reassured by the National Party President, Don Plett, that the party will support whoever is selected by the local riding association to run there. This follows the announcement last February that 2008 Liberal candidate Tracy Parsons would once again be seeking her party's nomination. Parsons is the former leader of the Progressive Canadian Party, who switched to the Liberals just before the last election.
