Former Conservative M.P. Rahim Jaffer looks to have a fight on his hands if he wants to regain the nomination in his former riding (h/t
daveberta.ca):
- Edmonton – Strathcona, AB - A new Conservative nomination challenger has surfaced, as the managing partner of an internet firm, Ryan Hastman, launches a website and Facebook page. Jaffer has also maintained his web presence. No word as yet on when a nomination meeting will be held. First-time NDP M.P. Linda Duncan won the riding last time by just 1% of the vote (2.1 votes per poll), in the 4th closest race in the Western Canada). Her 2008 election expenses are not yet entered in the Elections Canada database, but Jaffer's campaign spent roughly 99% of the limit.
