Liberal candidate news

Continuing the nominations catch-up, tonight we turn to the Liberals. Here's the latest:
  • Dufferin – Caledon, ON: Rebecca K. Finch has stepped aside from her post as the editor of an online publication to replace former candidate Skid Crease, and will face Conservative M.P. David Tilson
  • Toronto – Danforth, ON: The son of Trudeau-era Saskatchewan cabinet minister Otto Lang, former ministerial aide Andrew Lang, has won a contested nomination to replace Deborah Coyne as Liberal candidate in NDP Leader Jack Layton's riding
  • Nepean – Carleton, ON: High-school math teacher, Ed Mahfouz, will carry the Liberal banner against Conservative M.P. Pierre Poilievre

Forthcoming nominations meetings:

This brings the Liberals to just over 75% in candidates identified or nominated, and they have thus far maintained or exceeded their self-imposed target of 33% women candidates (current total is 36.5%, second only to the NDP). Of note, they have virtually a complete slate in Ontario (96/106), Alberta (24/28) , and the Atlantic provinces (28/32).

Next time, the Green Party.
